During the month of October we will be talking about the arrival of Autumn and all of the changes associated with the changing season. We will talk about the importance of fire safety, and go to Highland Orchards, and will top off the month with our Halloween parade and celebrations.

FIRE PREVENTION WEEK: The week of October 6th. The Malvern Fire Company will visit our school on Friday, the 17th .

HIGHLAND ORCHARDS TRIP:: Mrs. Corvino’s class and Mrs. Laird’s class is scheduled for Friday, October 10 at 9:30. Directions will be sent home next week. Please be prompt or you may miss the hayride! The trip will last approximately 2 hours. If you can not attend the field trip and need a ride for your child, please let us know as soon as possible! We will bill you for the trip. The cost is $8.00 per person. If you have a younger child who would eat the snack provided, pick the apples, & choose a pumpkin, then the orchard will charge us for him/her.

HALLOWEEN PARTIES AND PARADES: Please send the children in costume. Your child's teacher will send a reminder to the parents who volunteered to contribute goodies to this party. Thank you for your contributions. Parties will be held during regular class time as follows:

Please send in a large brown store bag, with your child's name on it, to put the costume in when we finish parading. We will be happy to have you line our parade route and view our costumes as we parade around the parking lot at approximately 9:30. After you drop off your child in costume, please park your car and wait outside, at the back parking lot of the school. If it rains, we will parade around the classrooms. After the parade, the children will return to their classrooms for the Halloween festivities. We ask that the parents say goodbye to their child before the child enters back into his/her classroom. NO WEAPONS WITH THE COSTUMES PLEASE! PARKING for this event is located on our parking area, and the adjacent parking area to the school. Due to the limited parking, it would be helpful if you could carpool with someone else. Thank you for your help and cooperation.

REMINDER: Please send in a photo for our Birthday Bulletin Boards if you have not already done so.

TUITION PAYMENT: October tuition payment is due by October 1st.

LUNCH BUNCH: Lunch Bunch is offered every day school is in session this month. Please remember that we cannot heat food. Do not forget to send in a drink, napkin, spoon or fork is necessary. We will rinse off items that are to be returned such as a spoon, fork, or storage container.

EXTENDED DAY: In October, there will be extended day on the following Wednesdays: 8, & 22.
