
The purpose of Saint Francis Nursery School is to serve the child, the family,
and the community. The school, through group experiences, prepares each
child for entrance into the elementary school system. It encourages
personal characteristics of independence, self-confidence, cooperation,
obedience, self-control, and an appreciation of art, music and nature.
The school provides a learning experience in an environment that teaches
respect for each other.

The school is a private institution licensed by the Pennsylvania Board of
Private Academic Schools. A Pennsylvania State Approved Nursery School
Teacher and Teacher's Aide staff each class.
Classes are limited in size and children will be accepted on a first-come
first-served basis.

The Saint Francis Nursery School, under the direction of Dianne F. Corvino,
began its operation in 1990. The staff consists
of two teachers and four teachers aides. The school offers a two-day and
three-day program for three and four year old children and a three-day,
four-day and five-day program for four and five year old children. The
school also offers a Lunch Bunch program and an Extended Day program.

Children must attain the age of two years seven months before the first day to be
able to start pre-school. For example, a child must be two years seven months by
September 1, 2008 to start pre-school in September 2008.
